Tea & Singing – What Do They Have in Common?

Some articles on singing express what I think is important about tea -says Teresa Barker

If you have been looking at my website, or following me on Facebook, then you will  know that I love tea and want to spread that love with others. I want you to find and enjoy the beauty of your own tea-rituals that are uniquely yours.

So, at the end of the day it isn’t about what I think of your china or if I agree on your choice of tea. What I really want to see is you ENJOYING tea in your own way!  In other words, I think each of us need to become our own experts at tea. My role is to just enlarge the options available to you with China, decorating, tea-types, etc.

My husband has been working on a site aimed at singing education What is interesting to me is that, without us explicitly discussing it,  he has the same view on Singing as I do on Tea! The goal of their site is similar to mine – to help singers become their own experts. Here is a quote from their site that I think relates perfectly to tea:

“There’s [a mistaken] idea that one can only get better at singing if they found the “right” teacher – preferably someone with a resume that included celebrity singers; only then could they release their potential.”  (from  “Get Better at Singing”)  I agree with them that thinking you need a “specialist” before you can do something really limits your life. In the case of Tea, I just started going to auctions and charity shops to learn about china – and picked up knowledge from making sure I just got out the door and asked questions!

I also like this:  “It’s easy – and perilous – to ride the roller coaster of people’s opinions, so the most important thing is to feel “great” within ourselves about our own singing.” – just exchange the word “tea” for “singing”!  (That’s from the article, “Do Online Singing Lessons Work”)

In fact, one of the interesting things about this site is that they promote something called a “SingerPath” 

– I think that everyone should have a “TeaPath”!
